What is the OISRA Nordic Division?

The Oregon Interscholastic Ski Racing Association (OISRA) Nordic Division is the statewide governing body of high school Nordic ski racing.

The OISRA was organized in1961 as an alpine organization, and it operated for 39 years as an "alpine only" organization.

Then, in the fall of 1999 the Central Oregon Chapter of the Oregon Nordic Club used the principles and philosophy of the OISRA for launching a successful pilot program for high school Nordic ski racing in Central Oregon. The OISRA accepted this Nordic program in 2000, and the OISRA is structured with both an alpine and a Nordic division.

Both divisions share the same vision, mission and constitution; but they operate independently with separate finances, by-laws, and rules and regulations governing races.

The OISRA is a professionally run organization with dedicated volunteers working in both divisions at the school, league, and state levels to provide a safe, consistent, and challenging competitive environment that stays current with national and international ski racing practices.
